Degradation of 1,4-Dioxane by Xanthobacter sp. YN2

Summary: In this study, a new strain, Xanthobacter sp. YN2, capable of highly efficient 1,4-dioxane degradation was isolated and characterized. The strain showed high tolerance to 1,4-dioxane and high degradation efficiency, making it an ideal candidate for the biodegradation of 1,4-dioxane in various treatment facilities. Genomic analysis revealed the presence of two SDIMO gene clusters that were upregulated in the presence of 1,4-dioxane, providing insights into the bacterial stress response and efficient biodegradation of 1,4-dioxane.
