Liposome-encapsulated methemoglobin as an antidote against cyanide poisoning

Yuto Suzuki et al.

Summary: Liposome-encapsulated methemoglobin shows superior efficacy and fast action as an antidote for cyanide poisoning, replicating the mechanism of nitrous acid compounds without adverse effects. In experiments, it maintained mitochondrial function and significantly improved mortality in a mouse model, offering a promising possibility for pharmaceutical applications.
