Long-term outcomes following endovascular and surgical revascularization for peripheral artery disease: a propensity score-matched analysis

Saman L. Parvar et al.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study compared the long-term outcomes of endovascular and surgical revascularization in PAD patients and found that although endovascular revascularization can reduce the risk of MALE, it is associated with higher mortality. Surgical revascularization has lower long-term mortality, which contradicts previous studies and highlights the controversy in this field.

Absence of Cold-Inducible RNA-Binding Protein (CIRP) Promotes Angiogenesis and Regeneration of Ischemic Tissue by Inducing M2-Like Macrophage Polarization

Matthias Kubler et al.

Summary: The study shows that the absence of CIRP can improve angiogenesis and regeneration of ischemic muscle tissue, likely by influencing macrophage polarization towards regenerative M2-like macrophages.

The Absence of Extracellular Cold-Inducible RNA-Binding Protein (eCIRP) Promotes Pro-Angiogenic Microenvironmental Conditions and Angiogenesis in Muscle Tissue Ischemia

Matthias Kuebler et al.

Summary: Depletion of eCIRP in a mouse model of muscle ischemia resulted in increased angiogenesis, reduced leukocyte recruitment, and a shift in macrophage polarization towards a regenerative phenotype. These findings suggest that eCIRP plays a key role in modulating angiogenesis and leukocyte responses during muscle ischemia.
