The kinetic landscape of an RNA-binding protein in cells

Deepak Sharma et al.

Summary: The study using pulsed femtosecond ultraviolet laser for time-resolved RNA-protein cross-linking reveals the binding and dissociation kinetics of RBP DAZL in cells. The results show that DAZL resides at individual binding sites for only seconds, while the sites remain DAZL-free for longer periods, and it binds to many RNAs in clusters of multiple proximal sites.

Cryo-EM structure of the yeast TREX complex and coordination with the SR-like protein Gbp2

Yihu Xie et al.

Summary: The TREX complex, composed of THO sub-complex and Sub2 ATPase, plays central roles in mRNP maturation and export. The THO complex stabilizes the semi-open conformation of Sub2 and interacts extensively with the SR-like protein Gbp2 to facilitate its loading onto mRNP.
