This study experimentally investigates high-voltage electrical pulses with magnitudes of up to 200 kV generated in water. These pulses result from the saturation of water samples by less powerful pulses with magnitudes of 10 kV and higher frequency. The pulse generation process involves the release of hydrogen from water into the environment. Additionally, a combination of two dischargers generates electricity with power exceeding the input power. A hypothetical mechanism based on the successive acts of proton acceleration and thermalization is proposed. The results of wastewater treatment using the generated high-voltage pulses are also presented.
The high-voltage electrical pulses with magnitude up to 200 kV, generated in water, are studied experimentally. These pulses are the water sample saturation result by less powerful pulses with magnitude of 10 kV and higher frequency. The pulse generation process is accompanied by release of hydrogen from water into environment. Besides, the considered complex of two dischargers generates electricity, the power of which exceeds the input power. Proposed the hypothetical mechanism of the process based on successive acts of acceleration and thermalization of protons. The results of wastewater treatment by generated high-voltage pulses are also presented.(c) 2022 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
