Effect of solar photovoltaic and various photovoltaic air thermal systems on hydrogen generation by water electrolysis

M. Chandrasekar et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel photovoltaic thermal air system with semi length fins was tested for hydrogen generation. The results showed that the system with semi length wavy fins produced the highest amount of hydrogen. The longitudinal and wavy fins located downstream improved the cooling of the photovoltaic panels and increased the current supply. Among the considered photovoltaic-assisted hydrogen generation techniques, the PVTa system demonstrated the highest hydrogen generation rate.

Experimental investigation and numerical analysis of energy efficiency building using phase changing material coupled with reflective coating

Rajasree Shanmuganathan et al.

Summary: With the increasing population in India, the utilization of natural energy has become crucial in alleviating space and resource constraints. Introducing phase changing materials (PCM) to reduce the thermal conductivity in buildings is an effective way to decrease the use of artificial energy. This study has shown that PCM can significantly reduce energy requirements and peak temperatures in buildings.

Energy and exergy analysis of a PV-T integrated ethanol PEM electrolyzer

Basar Caglar et al.

Summary: A photovoltaic-thermal integrated ethanol proton exchange membrane electrolyzer was proposed as a low-energy consuming energy storage option for renewable-sourced electricity, with potential for simultaneous chemical production. The study conducted energy and exergy analyses for system components and the system as a whole, utilizing mathematical modeling and software packages. The energy and exergy efficiencies of the system were found to be mainly regulated by the PV-T and PEME components, and could be improved through parameter changes and scale-up.

Sameer Kumar Rai et al.

Summary: Marine natural bioactive compound (EME) extracted from Lyngbya sp. showed anti-inflammatory potential, especially when combined with aminated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNPs) to enhance its intracellular availability. The combined EME and MSNPs significantly downregulated the expressions of inflammatory markers in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells, presenting a therapeutic potential for inflammation. Moreover, EME also demonstrated cytotoxic activity in HeLa and HepG2 cancer cell lines through upregulating the expressions of p53, caspase-3, and p21.
