Effect of cold expansion on high-temperature low-cycle fatigue performance of the nickel-based superalloy hole structure

Xin Wang et al.

Summary: The research showed that the fatigue life of cold-expanded specimens is more than doubled compared to the original, and the fatigue gain decreases with increasing stress. The cold-expanded specimens have compressive residual stress and cold work-hardened structure, which increase the initiation life and inhibit crack propagation under high temperature and stress.

Effect of shot peening and vibration finishing on the fatigue behavior of TC17 titanium alloy at room and high temperature

Hailan Shi et al.

Summary: Research shows that the TC17 alloy treated with SP + VF process significantly improves its fatigue performance at room temperature, especially in high-temperature environments. This is mainly due to the fact that the SP + VF process can reduce surface roughness, enhance stability of microstructure, and maintain the residual compressive stress layer relatively stable compared to SP treatment alone.
