Biodegradation of 4-chlorophenol in batch and continuous packed bed reactor by isolated Bacillus subtilis

Naveen Patel et al.

Summary: In this study, Bacillus subtilis was used to successfully biodegrade 4-Chlorophenol, with optimization of various parameters and identification of the Levenspiel model as the best fit. The bacteria was immobilized for further degradation, resulting in a maximum degradation efficiency of 45.39%.

Macrophyte and indigenous bacterial co-remediation process for pentachlorophenol removal from wastewater

Rim Werheni Ammeri et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated the efficiency of bioaugmentation-phytoremediation using Typha angustifolia in removing PCP from wastewater. Significant PCP removal by indigenous bacteria and a decrease in chloride content were observed, along with an increase in bacterial numbers. Novel methods and analyses were employed to evaluate the phytoremediation process, showing positive effects on intrinsic microorganisms and promoting pollutant remediation.
