Summary: This study reported a simple method for biosynthesis of single phase maghemite nanoparticles using aqueous fruit extract of Ficus carica, and confirmed the properties of the synthesized nanoparticles through various analyses. The research showed that this method can be used to fabricate bulk quantities of gamma-Fe(2)O(3)NPs, which exhibited radical scavenging and catalytic activities.
