Charge-Transfer in Panchromatic Porphyrin-Tetracyanobuta-1,3-Diene-Donor Conjugates: Switching the Role of Porphyrin in the Charge Separation Process

Bijesh Sekaran et al.

Summary: By utilizing a combination of cycloaddition-retroelectrocyclization reaction, free-base and zinc porphyrins were decorated with strong charge transfer complexes, forming a novel push-pull system. Various techniques were used to investigate the physico-chemical properties of these compounds, highlighting the importance of the nature of porphyrins and the second electron donor in governing the charge transfer events.

Photonic Cavity-Mediated Tunable Ultrafast Absorption Dynamics in BaTiO3-Based One-Dimensional Photonic Crystal

Jitendra Nath Acharyya et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates ultrafast absorption dynamics and enhanced features of photonic modes in a one-dimensional photonic crystal embedded with barium titanate (BaTiO3, BTO). The transient absorption behavior and nonlinear absorption dynamics reveal the excited-state absorption dynamics of BTO defect energies and the enormous cavity field confinement effect. The strong optical nonlinearities and enhanced features offer insights into electron-photon interaction, opening up possibilities for novel nonlinear, hybrid optoelectronic, and photonic device applications.

High-Performance Organometallic Catalyst Based on Nickel Porphyrin/Carbon Fibre for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction

Ibrahim Elghamry et al.

Summary: Efforts to develop efficient non-precious metals catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) have led to the investigation of a composite catalyst based on Ni-TPT-P and CF, showing well-defined redox peaks and high catalytic activity. Performance evaluation using the RRDE technique reveals key indicators such as onset potential, electron number, and HO2- yield, demonstrating significant catalytic activity of the composite catalyst for ORR.
