Active and Strippable PVA/Borax/NaBO3 Hydrogel for Effective Containment and Decontamination of Chemical Warfare Agents

Orit Redy Keisar et al.

Summary: Active gels have unique potential for decontaminating chemical warfare agents due to their strong adhesion to surfaces and prolonged decontamination time. A decontamination hydrogel containing sodium perborate as an in situ source of hydrogen peroxide efficiently detoxified CWAs like sarin, VX, and sulfur mustard. The mild hydrogel showed universal decontamination abilities and easy application, holding high potential as a new CWA decontamination tool.
