Using nanofluid saturated porous media to enhance free convective heat transfer around a spherical electronic device

Abderrahmane Bairi

Summary: The thermophysical properties of nanofluid-saturated porous media were used to optimize the thermal design of a spherical electronic device in this study. Free convective heat transfer was quantified using the finite volume method and the SIMPLE algorithm, showing that it increases systematically with the Rayleigh number. The average Nusselt number also increases with the Rayleigh number according to a conventional power type law, with moderate influence of the volume fraction in the 2-10% range.

Magnetohydrodynamic flow of Cu-Fe3O4/H2O hybrid nanofluid with effect of viscous dissipation: dual similarity solutions

Liaquat Ali Lund et al.

Summary: This study investigates the heat transfer characteristics, stability analysis, and multiple solutions of magnetohydrodynamic flow of hybrid nanofluid caused by nonlinear shrinking/stretching surface under high temperatures. It is found that the velocity of the hybrid nanofluid decreases in the first solution and increases in the second solution as both the magnetic and permeability coefficient parameters increase. Furthermore, dual solutions are found to exist only on the shrinking surface under specific parameter values in the case of suction.

Numerical investigation of mixed convection of nanofluid flow in a trapezoidal channel with different aspect ratios in the presence of porous medium

M. A. El-Shorbagy et al.

Summary: This numerical study investigates the mixed convection of nanofluid flow in a trapezoidal channel with different aspect ratios, along with the presence of porous media. The results show that a decrease in Richardson number leads to increased heat transfer, with the highest heat transfer occurring at 90% porous height. The aspect ratio of 0.3 predicts more heat transfer compared to an aspect ratio of 0.5, and the Nusselt number exhibits unique behaviors with an increase in percentage of porous height.

A Machine Learning Approach to Predicting the Heat Convection and Thermodynamics of an External Flow of Hybrid Nanofluid

Rasool Alizadeh et al.

Summary: This study numerically analyzed the heat convection and entropy generation in a hybrid nanofluid flowing around a cylinder embedded in porous media. The research found that the heat transfer of the system increases with higher Reynolds number, permeability parameter, or volume fraction of nanoparticles, while increasing nanoparticle concentration has a nonmonotonic effect on entropy generation. The study demonstrates the capability of artificial intelligence algorithms in predicting the thermohydraulics and thermodynamics of thermal and solutal systems.

Natural convection flow of a nanofluid-filled V-shaped cavity saturated with a heterogeneous porous medium: Incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics analysis

Zehba A. S. Raizah et al.

Summary: The flow and heat transfer of nanofluid in a V-shaped cavity were analyzed using the incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamic (ISPH) scheme. The study focused on a nanofluid-filled V-shaped cavity with a partial layer heterogeneous porous medium. Results showed that the highest heat transfer efficiency was achieved with horizontal heterogeneous porous medium in the V-shaped cavity, while the lowest was with homogeneous porous medium. Increasing the Rayleigh number increased buoyancy force and enhanced convective heat transfer.

Yu-Ming Chu et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the newly developed concepts of Rosseland approximation and gyrotactic microorganisms in studying the steady, two-dimensional flow of Walter's-B nanofluid over a stretchable surface. It primarily examines two out of seven important slip mechanisms, namely Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis, neglecting the rest. The study uses mathematical modeling to analyze thermal and solutal effects, and discusses the influences of important flow parameters on the governing equations, with results compared to existing literature.
