Recurrent Exposure Generation for Low-Light Face Detection

Jinxiu Liang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a "detection-with-enhancement" framework for low-light face detection, which significantly improves face detection performance by using a novel Recurrent Exposure Generation (REG) module and a Multi-Exposure Detection (MED) module. Experimental results show that the proposed method, named REGDet, outperforms previous state-of-the-arts in low-light face detection tasks.

Learning to Enhance Low-Light Image via Zero-Reference Deep Curve Estimation

Chongyi Li et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel method called Zero-Reference Deep Curve Estimation (Zero-DCE), which utilizes a deep network for pixel-wise and high-order curve estimation without the need for reference images. The method shows strong generalization and efficiency, achieving image enhancement through simple and intuitive nonlinear curve mapping. Additionally, a lightweight version called Zero-DCE++ is presented with fast inference speed and maintained enhancement performance.

HLA-Face: Joint High-Low Adaptation for Low Light Face Detection

Wenjing Wang et al.

Summary: This article introduces a face detection framework called HLA, which improves the performance of face detection in low-light conditions through joint high-low adaptation. This method not only does not require the use of dark face labels for training, but also achieves good results even without a large amount of low-light data.
