Network Alignment With Holistic Embeddings

Thanh Trung Huynh et al.

Summary: Network alignment is a crucial task in various applications, but existing models have limitations in handling large-scale graphs and leveraging different network information. This paper proposes an end-to-end alignment framework that efficiently compares and aligns network nodes by incorporating multiple modalities. Our model constructs multiple embeddings for each node to capture different types of network information, and utilizes a late-fusion mechanism to combine the embeddings based on their importance. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our technique in terms of accuracy and robustness.

Efficient and Effective Multi-Modal Queries Through Heterogeneous Network Embedding

Chi Thang Duong et al.

Summary: The heterogeneity of today's Web sources requires information retrieval systems to handle multi-modal queries. Existing methods for handling multi-modal queries are either inefficient or ineffective. To address this issue, we propose an information retrieval system based on heterogeneous network embedding, which can accurately answer multi-modal queries with a single pass over the data.

Reconciling Multiple Social Networks Effectively and Efficiently: An Embedding Approach

Zhongbao Zhang et al.

Summary: Recently, there has been significant attention on reconciling social networks and identifying accounts belonging to the same individual across different platforms. Existing studies have limitations in terms of multiplicity, comprehensiveness, and robustness. To address these limitations, the paper proposes two frameworks, MASTER and MASTER+, that robustly and comprehensively reconcile multiple social networks, outperforming existing approaches. MASTER+ further enhances efficiency by grouping accounts into clusters and performing reconciliation in parallel.

What Do Your Friends Think?: Efficient Polling Methods for Networks Using Friendship Paradox

Buddhika Nettasinghe et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the use of randomized polling in a social network, proposing a neighborhood expectation polling strategy that leverages social network connections. Two NEP algorithms are proposed for cases where the social network graph is not known, but random walks or uniformly sampled nodes are available. Theoretical and numerical results show the performance of these algorithms in predicting election outcomes.

Modeling Influence Diffusion over Signed Social Networks

Dong Li et al.

Summary: Research on influence propagation models over signed social networks revealed that existing models are stochastic and descriptive, requiring a significant number of Monte-Carlo simulations which are time-consuming and not scalable. The proposed PLID model can quickly and accurately calculate user sets' influence without simulations; extensive experiments showed that the PLID model outperforms state-of-the-art methods in positive influence spread and running time.
