High Speed and Low Digital Resources Implementation of Hodgkin-Huxley Neuronal Model Using Base-2 Functions

Summary: The paper presents a set of multiplierless mathematical equations based on 2(X) terms for the digital implementation of the high-accuracy Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) neuron model. Hardware synthesis shows that the proposed model can reproduce different spiking patterns with higher performance and significantly lower implementation costs, achieving a maximum frequency of 200 MHz.
