Synthesis, structure, and photoluminescent and electroluminescent properties of zinc(II) complexes with bidentate azomethine ligands

Anatolii S. Burlov et al.

Summary: New Zn(II) complexes of bidentate Schiff base ligands were synthesized and extensively characterized, revealing their photophysical properties and emission performance in organic light-emitting diodes. The study showed significant influence of substituents on the absorption and fluorescence properties, and explained the electronic absorption spectra characteristics using quantum chemical calculations. The EL spectra of the complexes exhibited intrinsic radiation from the zinc(II) complexes without exciplex or excimer states, with EQE measurements showing a maximum value close to 3%.

Optoelectronic properties of (Z)-3-(4-(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole-2-yl)phenyl)-2-phenylacrylonitrile films under acid and thermal environments for tuning OLED emission

Wilson Bernal et al.

Summary: A systematic study was conducted on the changes in optoelectronic properties of DPimdPPA films due to treatments with acid or temperature. The treatments induced enhancements in fluorescence quantum yield and hypsochromic shifts. Crystallinity in the films was induced by these treatments, leading to changes in film morphology. These changes were utilized to tune the emission in OLEDs, resulting in different emission colors and improved luminous parameters.

A combined DFT and experimental study into the optoelectronic and charge transport properties of ninhydrin-glycine Schiff base complexes for efficient LED applications

Rihab Chouk et al.

Summary: A combined theoretical and experimental study was conducted on four synthesized Schiff base complexes derived from ninhydrin-glycine ligand with Co(II), Zn(II), Al(III) and Fe(III) metal cations. The complexes showed good absorption in the visible region and blue emission, with Al-NG exhibiting better electron and hole transport properties according to Marcus theories. The results suggest that the studied complexes have potential applications in LED devices.

Schiff Base Zinc(II) Complexes as Promising Emitters for Blue Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Alexey N. Gusev et al.

Summary: The newly synthesized organometallic blue fluorescent Zn(II) Schiff base complexes have demonstrated high thermal stability and remarkable photoluminescence, making them potential candidates for use in organic electroluminescent heterostructures. The constructed light-emitting diodes based on these complexes show low input voltage, high brightness, and good external quantum efficiency, which is promising for purely fluorescent organic light-emitting diodes.
