Invasive poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma of the bladder following augmentation cystoplasty: a multi-institutional clinicopathological study

Joshua A. Anderson et al.

Summary: Augmentation cystoplasty is a surgical procedure used to treat patients with neurogenic bladder. A rare but important complication of this procedure is the development of malignancy, with most cases being poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma with signet ring cell features and presenting at an advanced stage. Further molecular characterization may provide insights into the pathogenesis of this entity.
