Summary: The indigenous probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum Dad-13 powder consumption resulted in a significant decrease in body weight and BMI, as well as changes in the composition of gut microbiota in overweight adults. However, no significant changes were observed in lipid profile, short-chain fatty acids, and fecal pH levels after the consumption of the probiotic.
