UP-Conversion Luminescence Characteristics of Er3+/Yb3+ Co-Doped Molybdate Glass Ceramics

Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped glass and glass ceramic samples were prepared by high temperature melting method with specific raw material ratio. After XRD measurements and spectral analysis, it was found that the emission peaks of the glass ceramic samples were significantly higher than those of the glass samples.
Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped glass and glass ceramic samples were prepared by high temperature melting method, respectively, and the raw material ratio is: 6SrCO(3)center dot 3.5MoO(3)center dot 7Na(2)CO(3)center dot 34SiO(2)center dot 9NaF center dot 40H(3)BO(3)center dot 0.5Sb(2)O(3)center dot 3LuF(3)center dot 0.15Yb(2)O(3)center dot 0.03Er(2)O(3). The XRD patterns were measured, and the results showed that SrMoO4 crystal phase were formed in the glass ceramic samples The Judd-Ofelt theory is used to study the spectral characteristics of glass ceramic samples, and the spectral line intensity parameters Omega(lambda) (lambda = 2, 4, 6) of Er3+ in the matrix material are calculated through absorption spectra. According to the spectral line intensity parameters, the experimental and theoretical oscillator strengths are calculated, and the root mean square deviation (delta(rms)) between both of them is 4.37 x 10(-6). And the parameters such as the transition probability, branching ratio and lifetime of Er3+ in the SrMoO4 crystal phase are obtained. Finally, the up-conversion luminescence spectra of glass sample and glass ceramic sample were measured under excitation of 980 nm laser, and three emission peaks located at 521, 545 and 654 nm were observed and all three emission peaks of glass ceramic sample are much higher than those of glass sample. According to the fitting curve between luminous intensity (I-em) and pump power (P-pump). It can be inferred that the up-conversion transition process of the Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped glass-ceramic samples belongs to two-photon absorption.
