A Novel Tea factory waste metal-free catalyst as promising supercapacitor electrode for hydrogen production and energy storage: A dual functional material

Saliha Ozarslan et al.

Summary: In this study, a catalyst produced from tea factory waste was utilized for hydrogen production by methanolysis of sodium borohydride. This dual-function material acted as both catalyst and supercapacitor, showing promising results for hydrogen generation. The catalyst was synthesized by treating the waste with acetic acid, leading to efficient hydrogen generation and resembling supercapacitor curves in literature.

A novel approach for preparing nitrogen-doped porous nanocomposites for supercapacitors

Yan Ding et al.

Summary: A one-step pyrolysis synchronous activation method for preparing nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous bean pulp carbon and a green hydrothermal method for synthesising BPC@MnO2 composite have been proposed. The pore structure and nitrogen species of biochar are strongly affected by the presence of CO2 and pyrolysis temperature. The BPC@MnO2 composite displays superior electrochemical performance compared to BPC alone.

Cleanly synthesizing rotten potato-based activated carbon for supercapacitor by self-catalytic activation

Ao Wang et al.

Summary: A novel self-catalytic activation approach was developed for the preparation of hierarchically porous carbon from rotten potato wastes. The carbon exhibited high BET surface area, optimal hierarchically porous structure, and good conductivity. This approach also offers a promising strategy for cleaner production of advanced activated carbon derived from other biomass wastes.
