Synergy Between Ceria and Metals (Ag or Cu) in Catalytic Diesel Particulate Filters: Effect of the Metal Content and of the Preparation Method on the Regeneration Performance

Valeria Di Sarli et al.

Summary: This study investigated the catalytic performance of metal-promoted CeO2 washcoated silicon carbide diesel particulate filters in soot oxidation. The amount and preparation method of the metal (Ag or Cu) were found to significantly influence the catalytic activity, with Ag-promoted catalysts prepared using method B showing the highest activity. The results suggest that the method of preparation plays a crucial role in enhancing the catalytic performance of the filters.

A Numerical Investigation of the Combined Effects of Initial Temperature and Catalyst Activity on the Dynamics of Soot Combustion in a Catalytic Diesel Particulate Filter

Gianluca Landi et al.

Summary: The study investigates the combined effects of initial temperature and catalyst activity on the regeneration dynamics of a catalytic diesel particulate filter (DPF) using CFD-based simulations. Results show different regeneration behaviors based on catalyst activity, with faster regeneration at high activity and a trade-off between time and peak temperature at intermediate activity. Optimal regeneration conditions involve setting the filter's initial temperature equal to the inlet gas temperature.

Impact of regulated pollutant emissions of Euro 6d-Temp light-duty diesel vehicles under real driving conditions

Reyes Garcia-Contreras et al.

Summary: The study shows the effectiveness of pollution control technologies in new generation diesel light-duty vehicles, with significant reduction in emissions, especially NOx and PN. The work also demonstrates the different effectiveness of pollution control strategies for different vehicle models, as well as the distribution of emissions in different areas.
