Experimental observation of methane hydrate dissociation via different depressurization modes under water phase flow

Bingbing Chen et al.

Summary: Water flow erosion has been found to be an effective method for methane hydrate dissociation, which helps mitigate ice generation issues in depressurization production. The combination of three depressurization modes with water flow erosion effectively eliminates ice generated during methane hydrate production, with higher water flow rates enhancing the dissociation process.

Numerical modeling of gas production from methane hydrate deposits using low-frequency electrical heating assisted depressurization method

Ermeng Zhao et al.

Summary: A mathematical model is established to evaluate the production performance of low-frequency electrical heating assisted depressurization (LF-EHAD) method for hydrate deposits recovery in this study, and the model is validated by experiment data. Results show that LF-EHAD outperforms hot water flooding in terms of gas production and energy utilization efficiency.

Dependence of the hydrate-based CO2 storage process on the hydrate reservoir environment in high-efficiency storage methods

Yongchen Song et al.

Summary: The study indicates that high initial water saturation and suitable temperatures and pressures in marine sediments contribute to higher efficiency in CO2 storage using hydrates. SiO2 nanoparticles are an effective kinetic additive that can improve water conversion percentage and CO2 storage efficiency.
