Virulence variations between clonal complexes of Melisococcus plutonius and the possible causes

Gerardo Perez-Ordonez et al.

Summary: Melissococcus plutonius is a pathogenic bacterium that causes European foulbrood disease in honeybee populations, impacting beekeeping and agriculture. Although there have been studies on its pathogenesis and epidemiology, the virulence factors related to larval infection remain unknown. Research on genetic variation and potential virulence factors of M. plutonius is crucial for developing more effective control methods.

Investigation and human health risk assessment of multi-class veterinary antibiotics in honey from South Korea

Dan-Bi Kim et al.

Summary: The study validated a method for detecting 26 antibiotics in honey and found that chlorotetracycline and tetracycline had the highest residues. The upper residue levels of tetracycline class exceeded acceptable daily intake by several times. In particular, chlorotetracycline accounted for a large proportion of the hazard index.
