Construction and evaluation of ovalbumin-pullulan nanogels as a potential delivery carrier for curcumin

Qi Zeng et al.

Summary: Preparation of ovalbumin-pullulan (OVA-Pul) nanogels through Maillard reaction and heat treatment resulted in small particle diameter, excellent polydispersity index, and high encapsulation efficiency. The nanogels showed controlled release of curcumin and maintained stability during storage and digestion, indicating potential for effective delivery of nutrients and drugs.

Preparation of ultra-long stable ovalbumin/sodium carboxymethylcellulose nanoparticle and loading properties of curcumin

Fuge Niu et al.

Summary: OVA/CMC nanoparticles are prepared using complex coacervation and thermal induction, and the effects of different parameters on their stability, loading mechanism for curcumin, and functional properties are investigated. The results show that these nanoparticles can efficiently load and stabilize curcumin, exhibiting good antioxidant activity.

Production of self-assembling acylated ovalbumin nanogels as stable delivery vehicles for curcumin

Gan Hu et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the potential usage of acylated ovalbumin nanogels as delivery systems for curcumin. These AOVA nanogels showed improved physicochemical properties compared to NOVA nanogels, leading to higher encapsulation efficiency and slower sustained release of curcumin. The findings suggested that AOVA nanogels could serve as a novel ideal carrier for hydrophobic active compounds.
