The stress-responsive kinase DYRK2 activates heat shock factor 1 promoting resistance to proteotoxic stress

Rita Moreno et al.

Summary: In triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells, DYRK2 phosphorylates HSF1 to promote its nuclear stability and transcriptional activity, with DYRK2 depletion reducing HSF1 activity. Moreover, DYRK2 levels positively correlate with active HSF1 in TNBC tumors and associate with poor prognosis, suggesting DYRK2 may be promoting TNBC.
