Metabolomic Study of Normal and Modified Nucleosides in the Urine of Mice with Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Sepsis by LC-MS/MS

Moongi Ji et al.

Summary: In this study, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry profiling of normal and modified nucleosides was performed in sepsis mice to characterize altered nucleoside metabolism. The research highlighted potential biomarkers for various inflammatory diseases, including sepsis, and identified the lack of systematic nucleoside profiling and pattern analysis in sepsis.

PMN-derived netrin-1 attenuates cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury via myeloid ADORA2B signaling

Jiwen Li et al.

Summary: Previous studies have shown that netrin-1 plays a role in attenuating myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, with elevated levels found in the blood of patients with myocardial infarction. Neutrophils were identified as the main source of elevated blood netrin-1 during myocardial injury, and purinergic signaling events through the myeloid adenosine A2b receptor mediate netrin-1-elicited cardioprotection. These findings suggest an autocrine signaling loop with a functional role for neutrophil-derived netrin-1 in attenuating myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury.

A leukotriene-dependent spleen-liver axis drives TNF production in systemic inflammation

Monique T. Fonseca et al.

Summary: In systemic inflammation, the communication between the spleen and liver plays a critical role in TNF production, with LTB4 identified as an important messenger. These findings provide a framework for understanding how systemic inflammation can be regulated through interorgan communication.

Human de novo purine biosynthesis

Vidhi Pareek et al.

Summary: This review highlights the human de novo purine biosynthetic pathway, discussing the assembly and function of purinosomes, as well as potential signaling pathways that regulate their formation and disassembly. The findings support the existence of a metabolon and suggest insights into how other metabolic pathways may be organized for optimal function.
