Utility of Natural Sitting Lateral Radiograph in the Diagnosis of Segmental Instability for Patients with Degenerative Lumbar Spondylolisthesis

Qing-shuang Zhou et al.

Summary: Segmental instability is a key factor for surgical treatment in patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis. Different posture radiographs, such as sitting radiograph and supine sagittal MRI, show potential to diagnose segmental instability. The combination of sitting radiograph and supine sagittal MRI has higher translational range of motion and is more effective in detecting translational instability compared to traditional flexion-extension radiographs.
