Evaluating the impact of acid-reducing agents on drug absorption using biorelevant in vitro tools and PBPK modeling-case example dipyridamole

Domagoj Segregur et al.

Summary: The study utilized different media for in vitro dissolution experiments and PBPK modeling to simulate the effects of acid-reducing agents on drug pharmacokinetics. Results showed that in vitro setups tended to overestimate drug precipitation in vivo, but using dissolution testing under elevated pH conditions successfully simulated the ARA/drug interaction.
