A Rare Cause of Hyperinsulinemic Hypoglycemia: Kabuki Syndrome

Mina Misirligil et al.

Summary: Kabuki syndrome (KS) is a genetic disorder characterized by distinctive facial features, skeletal anomalies, and neuromotor development delays. It can be caused by mutations in the KMT2D or KDM6A genes, with most patients presenting with hypoglycemia and defects in the KDM6A gene. Early detection of hypoglycemia is essential for preventing progression of neurological symptoms in KS patients.

Clinical and molecular characterization study of Chinese Kabuki syndrome in Hong Kong

Po L. So et al.

Summary: This study summarized the clinical features and molecular findings of Kabuki syndrome (KS) patients diagnosed in Hong Kong between January 1991 and December 2019. The results showed that the clinical phenotype of Chinese KS patients was largely comparable with that reported in patients of other ethnicities. This study expands the mutation spectrum and provides important natural history information of Chinese KS in literature.
