Status, trend, economic and environmental impacts of household solar photovoltaic development in China: Modelling from subnational perspective

Han Chen et al.

Summary: Distributed solar PV contributes significantly to China's total solar power generation, with household solar PV accounting for only 22% in the market. The study reveals that although the majority of prefectural cities have economically feasible HSPV projects, profitability remains a concern due to low adoption rates. Efforts are needed to enhance profitability and promote HSPV investment, especially in more developed cities.

Barriers and potential solutions to the diffusion of solar photovoltaics from the public-private-people partnership perspective - Case study of Norway

Yan Xue et al.

Summary: Norway is a major renewable energy developer in Europe, with a focus on hydropower, but research shows that solar energy also has potential. However, barriers to diffusion of photovoltaics in Norway include high initial costs and limited awareness of benefits. Public-private-people partnerships have the potential to overcome these barriers and create new incentives in the country.

Ecological impacts of run -of -river hydropower plants ? Current status and future prospects on the brink of energy transition

Alban Kuriqi et al.

Summary: The widespread perception of small run-of-river hydropower plants as renewable energy sources has led to their global proliferation, but such schemes may have negative impacts on fluvial ecosystems. Different types of small run-of-river hydropower schemes have varying ecological impacts, with diversion weir and pondage schemes being less eco-friendly compared to dam-toe schemes. Environmental flows are crucial for ecosystem conservation in rivers affected by hydropower operations.
