Moving toward a green revolution in Japan: Symmetric and asymmetric relationships among clean energy technology development investments, economic growth, and CO2 emissions

Zahoor Ahmed et al.

Summary: This study emphasizes the importance of clean energy in environmental sustainability and analyzes the impact of public research and development investments on carbon emissions in Japan. The research shows that increasing public investment in clean energy research and development projects can effectively reduce carbon emissions, with investments in nuclear energy development showing more significant emission reduction effects, while economic growth leads to higher carbon emissions.

Linking Information Communication Technology, trade globalization index, and CO2emissions: evidence from advanced panel techniques

Zahoor Ahmed et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of ICT and the trade globalization index on CO(2) emissions in ASEAN-6 countries, finding that both contribute to reducing emissions and improving environmental quality. The results also reveal a U-shaped association between GDP and emissions, as well as a unidirectional causality from ICT influencing trade globalization and energy consumption.

Lin-Na Hao et al.

Summary: Through theoretical and empirical analysis, this study finds that green growth can reduce CO2 emissions, while environmental taxes, human capital, and renewable energy use can also decrease CO2 emissions. GDP growth has a negative impact on environmental quality, but green growth helps sustain environmental quality.

Exploring the nexus between economic complexity, economic growth and ecological footprint: Contextual evidences from Japan

Majid Ikram et al.

Summary: The study explores the impact of structural changes and economic activities on the environment in Japan using economic complexity and ecological footprint as key factors. The results show bidirectional causality between economic growth, economic complexity, and ecological footprint in low and high quantiles. Policy efforts towards product diversification are suggested to help solve ecological problems based on long run cointegration and causality between economic complexity and ecological footprint.

Asymmetric nexus between economic policy uncertainty, renewable energy technology budgets, and environmental sustainability: Evidence from the United States

Zahoor Ahmed et al.

Summary: This study examines the asymmetric impact of renewable energy research and development budgets (RRDD) and economic policy uncertainty (EPU) on CO2 emissions in the US, finding that EPU has a significant asymmetric impact on emissions and reducing EPU leads to emission reductions. However, positive and negative changes in RRDD do not significantly affect CO2 emissions. The study suggests increasing RRDD and fiscal policies to promote the growth of the renewable energy sector and stable environmental policies for long-term environmental benefits.
