Effect of transition metal oxide doping on catalytic activity of titania for the oxidation of 1,2-dichloroethane

Xing Zhang et al.

Summary: Transition metal oxides (MOx)-doped titania solid solution catalysts were prepared and characterized for the oxidation of 1,2-dichloroethane. Among them, 10CrOx-TiO2 exhibited the highest catalytic activity and resistance to chlorine poisoning, attributed to strong acidity, redox ability, high adsorbed oxygen species concentration, and strong interaction between TiO2 and CrOx.

Catalytic oxidation of chlorinated volatile organic compounds over Mn-Ti composite oxides catalysts: Elucidating the influence of surface acidity

Hao Liu et al.

Summary: The reducibility and surface acidity of Mn-Ti composite oxides were controlled by adjusting the Mn/Ti molar ratio, impacting their catalytic activity for the deep oxidation of vinyl chloride. It was found that the catalyst surface acidity played a decisive role in the oxidation process, while Lewis acidic sites from Ti species also influenced the catalytic activity.

Facile Cr3+-Doping Strategy Dramatically Promoting Ru/CeO2 for Low-Temperature CO2 Methanation: Unraveling the Roles of Surface Oxygen Vacancies and Hydroxyl Groups

Xianglan Xu et al.

Summary: The introduction of Cr element in the support of Ru/CeO2 catalyst significantly enhanced CO2 methanation activity, primarily by promoting the formate pathway. Cr3+ doping increased the number of surface oxygen vacancies and hydroxyl groups, thereby increasing the production of bicarbonates and formates, leading to improved methane production rates at low temperatures for the Ru/Ce(0.9)Cr(0.1)O(x) catalyst.

Improved NOx Reduction over Phosphate-Modified Fe2O3/TiO2 Catalysts Via Tailoring Reaction Paths by In Situ Creating Alkali-Poisoning Sites

Yue Li et al.

Summary: The issue of catalyst deactivation due to alkali poisoning remains a challenge for NOx reduction by NH3. A novel strategy of modifying Fe2O3/TiO2 catalysts with phosphate has been demonstrated to enhance NOx reduction in the presence of alkaline metals, by creating alkali-poisoning sites, increasing surface acidity, enhancing redox ability, and protecting active sites from alkali poisoning. This approach shows promise in providing inspiration for designing catalysts with exceptional resistance to alkaline metals for controlling NOx emissions.

Significant Improvement of Catalytic Performance for Chlorinated Volatile Organic Compound Oxidation over RuOx Supported on Acid-Etched Co3O4

Hao Liu et al.

Summary: The strategy of constructing surface defects on Co3O4 support by acid etching was utilized to enhance the interaction between active RuOx species and the support, resulting in improved dispersity and thermal stability. The optimized Ru catalyst achieved complete oxidation of vinyl chloride at lower temperatures with hardly any loss of Ru species, and phosphate modification effectively reduced polychlorinated byproducts. This method provides a promising approach for catalyst design in CVOC oxidation.

Catalytic performance and intermediates identification of trichloroethylene deep oxidation over Ru/3DOM SnO2 catalysts

Xiaohui Yu et al.

Summary: Ru nanoparticles supported on 3DOM SnO2 exhibited excellent catalytic activity for the oxidation of TCE and/or toluene. The high catalytic performance was attributed to the presence of hydroxyl groups, strong O-2 adsorption ability, low-temperature reducibility, and strong interaction between Ru NPs and 3DOM SnO2. The catalytic mechanism over xRu/3DOM SnO2 under dry and humid conditions was proposed, providing insights for the industrial application of Ru catalysts in the removal of Cl-containing volatile organic compounds.
