Comparison of strategies to efficiently combine repeated urine samples in biomarker-based studies

Claire Philippat et al.

Summary: In biomarker-based studies, pooling repeated biospecimens to estimate exposure can effectively reduce measurement errors, with equal-volume pooling designs providing adequate estimations for triclosan and BPA concentrations. Standardizing for specific gravity or creatinine and averaging creatinine-standardized concentrations are not suitable for BPA. These findings offer practical guidance on combining repeated biospecimens in epidemiological studies.

Maternal bisphenol urine concentrations, fetal growth and adverse birth outcomes: A population-based prospective cohort

Chalana M. Sol et al.

Summary: Higher maternal bisphenol S urine concentrations, especially in the first trimester, seem to be associated with larger fetal head circumference, higher weight, and a lower risk of being small size for gestational age at birth. Other bisphenols were not consistently associated with fetal growth outcomes.
