Phosphorus and Carbohydrate Metabolism in Green Bean Plants Subjected to Increasing Phosphorus Concentration in the Nutrient Solution

Summary: Phosphorus is considered an essential mineral nutrient for plants, but both excessive or deficient supply can have negative physiological effects. Increasing phosphorus concentration led to a decrease in biomass and an increase in different forms of phosphorus in plant organs. The optimal concentration of 2 mmol/L for fertigation suggested to achieve higher productivity without excessive phytate in seeds.
