Low-Density Spreading Design Based on an Algebraic Scheme for NOMA Systems

Goldwyn Millar et al.

Summary: This letter investigates a code-domain nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique based on an algebraic design, and proposes an improved low-density spreading (LDS) sequence design using projective geometry. The improved LDS code set outperforms existing designs in terms of bit error rate (BER) over frequency-nonselective Rayleigh fading and additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. The study demonstrates that achieving the best BER depends on the minimum distance.

Capacity Approaching Low Density Spreading in Uplink NOMA via Asymptotic Analysis

Hossein Asgharimoghaddam et al.

Summary: The research focuses on resource allocation in Low-density spreading non-orthogonal multiple-access (LDS-NOMA) systems based on pathlosses to maximize ergodic mutual information (EMI) through exhaustive search, resulting in improved system performance. Optimization problem and conditions are formulated to establish resource allocation rules and algorithms for constructing LDS codes, enhancing system performance.

Massive Coded-NOMA for Low-Capacity Channels: A Low-Complexity Recursive Approach

Mohammad Vahid Jamali et al.

Summary: This paper presents a low-complexity recursive approach for massive and scalable code-domain nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in low-capacity scenarios, such as IoT and mMTC. The proposed scheme efficiently shares scarce resources, enables low-complexity detection algorithms, and satisfies the requirements of massive connectivity. The proposed encoding and decoding scheme, based on factorizing the pattern matrix, leads to significant reduction in detection complexity and latency.

Performance of Cooperative NOMA with Virtual Full-Duplex based DF Relaying in Nakagami-m Fading

Justin Jose et al.

Summary: This work investigates a VFD system model based on DF relaying in NOMA communication, develops frameworks for exact and asymptotic expressions of outage probability and ergodic rate for the model, and analyzes the impact of fading parameters and pathloss for the first time. The accuracy of the derived expressions is verified through rigorous simulations.

On Performance Comparison of Multi-Antenna HD-NOMA, SCMA, and PD-NOMA Schemes

Animesh Yadav et al.

Summary: The letter examines a novel multiple-antenna hybrid-domain non-orthogonal multiple access (MA-HD-NOMA) scheme and formulates a joint resource allocation problem to maximize the system's total rate. It compares the scheme with multi-antenna SCMA and multi-antenna PD-NOMA schemes with the same overloading factor, using successive convex approximation and reweighted 1 minimization-based approaches for rapid convergence, with results showing superior performance of the proposed MA-HD-NOMA scheme.

VFD-NOMA Under Imperfect SIC and Residual Inter-Relay Interference Over Generalized Nakagami-m Fading Channels

Justin Jose et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of imperfect successive interference cancellation and residual inter-relay interference in a decode-and-forward relaying based virtual full-duplex (VFD) NOMA system, and develops frameworks for outage probability and ergodic rate expressions over generalized Nakagami-m fading channels. The accuracy of the derived closed-form expressions is verified through rigorous Monte-Carlo simulations.
