Pore-scale influence of methane hydrate on permeability of porous media

Lingli Pan et al.

Summary: This study reveals the influence of methane hydrate on fluid flow through simulations based on real 3D pore structures. The distribution of hydrate and sediment heterogeneity have significant impacts on permeability, explaining the wide range of relative permeability as a function of hydrate saturation.
