Role of bi-layered CuSCN based hole transport films to realize highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells

Muhammad Ali Tariq et al.

Summary: This article provides a comprehensive analysis of perovskite solar cells with CuSCN-based hole transport layers and discusses the comparison with other inorganic materials as well as the challenges faced during the deposition process. The introduction of intermediate layers such as rGO, NiOx, and other inorganic copper-based materials is proposed to overcome the degradation issue caused by polar solvents. The role of these intermediate layers in improving the stability and performance of the devices is discussed.

Magnesium doped TiO2 as an efficient electron transport layer in perovskite solar cells

Zafar Arshad et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the enhancement of optical and morphological properties of TiO2-based ETL by doping with Mg, leading to improved interface for the growth of the absorber layer in PSCs. Optoelectronic studies show effective reduction of band gap and enhanced absorption range with the addition of Mg, while electrical analysis reveals enhanced conduction and sheet carrier mobility. Thermal studies indicate the fabrication of a thermally stable ETL material for PSCs. J-V measurements demonstrate more than two-fold increase in photovoltaic efficiency with 3 wt% Mg.

Spray Pyrolyzed TiO2 Embedded Multi-Layer Front Contact Design for High-Efficiency Perovskite Solar Cells

Md. Shahiduzzaman et al.

Summary: An industrially viable bottom-up spray pyrolysis deposition technique was used to prepare a highly compact TiO2 film for the multi-layer front contact optimization in perovskite solar cells. The study presents reproducible and efficient perovskite solar cells with a multi-layer front contact design, and investigates the optics and electrical effects of the cells through optical coupled 3D electromagnetic simulations. The investigation also designs an optimized single-junction perovskite solar cell that can increase the energy conversion efficiency by more than 30% compared to a planar reference cell, and progresses to the realization of all-perovskite tandem solar cells with an energy conversion efficiency exceeding 30%.
