The apple bHLH transcription factor MdbHLH3 functions in determining the fruit carbohydrates and malate

Jian-Qiang Yu et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the bHLH TF MdbHLH3 modulates the accumulation of malate and carbohydrates in apple fruits, promoting carbohydrate accumulation by adjusting carbohydrate allocation from sources to sinks. By directly regulating the expression of cytosolic malate dehydrogenase MdcyMDH, MdbHLH3 coordinates carbohydrate allocation and malate accumulation in apple.

Transcriptome analysis Malus domestica 'M9T337' root molecular responses to Fusarium solani infection

Li Xiang et al.

Summary: Fusarium spp, a soil fungus, is the main cause of apple replant disease in China. Transcriptome analysis of the M9T337 apple rootstock revealed 667 differentially expressed genes in response to Fusarium solani infection, including receptor kinases, transcription factors, and genes involved in metabolite production and transport. These findings suggest that secondary metabolites, P450s, and UDP-glycosyltransferase play important roles in enhancing plant resistance to pathogens.

Isolation and Characterization of Fungal Endophytes Isolated from Medicinal Plant Ephedra pachyclada as Plant Growth-Promoting

Ahmed Mohamed Aly Khalil et al.

Summary: Endophytic fungi isolated from leaves of Ephedra pachyclada showed varied antimicrobial activity, plant growth-promoting properties, and enzymatic activity, with Penicillium commune EP-5 demonstrating maximum IAA productivity. The selected fungal endophytes applied as bioinoculant to maize plants improved root lengths and vegetative growth features significantly compared to uninoculated plants.

Impact of Three Soil Textures on the Fungal Community Structure in Rhizosphere Soils of Malus hupehensis Rehd. Seedlings

Haiyan Wang et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the relationship between soil texture and apple replant disease from the perspective of microbial community structure and diversity. It found differences in fungal diversity and structure among different textured soils, with loam clay soil showing the highest fungal diversity. However, soil texture did not significantly impact fungal richness.
