Switchable circularly polarized Room-Temperature phosphorescence based on pure organic amorphous binaphthyl polymer

Ruihong Liu et al.

Summary: A pure organic amorphous polymer R/S-BPNaP with circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) and circularly polarized room temperature phosphorescence (CPRTP) properties was developed through radical binary copolymerization. The copolymers exhibit tunable acid-base responsive switching RTP emission properties and can be applied in the field of encryption.

The initial attempt to reveal the emission processes of both mechanoluminescence and room temperature phosphorescence with the aid of circular dichroism in solid state

Yu Tian et al.

Summary: The design and synthesis of a phenothiazine derivative PtzChol containing a non-conjugated chiral cholesterol group was found to have positive effects on the production of chiral space group, mechanoluminescence (ML), and room temperature phosphorescence (RTP). The analysis of single crystal structure and circular dichroism (CD) signals before and after grinding revealed that the CD signal effectively reflected the changes in molecular arrangement during the entire light-emitting process.

Boosting Wide-Range Tunable Long-Afterglow in 1D Metal-Organic Halide Micro/Nanocrystals for Space/Time-Resolved Information Photonics

Bo Zhou et al.

Summary: This study developed new types of metal-organic halide micro/nanocrystals with tunable afterglow properties, achieved by rational control over both ultralong-lived room-temperature phosphorescence and thermally activated delayed fluorescence. This opens up possibilities for achieving ultralong afterglow emission in low-dimensional micro/nanostructures.

Naphthalimide-Based Fluorescent Polymers for Molecular Detection

Aleksandr S. Oshchepkov et al.

Summary: The intensive development of fiber-optic sensors marked the beginning of the 21st century, requiring new functional materials and specifically fluorescent probes for their design. Despite continuous development, successfully incorporating probes into functional sensing polymers remains a challenge, particularly in retaining the sensing properties of the probes in a polymer matrix.

Tunable multicolor room-temperature phosphorescence including white-light emission from amorphous copolymers

Ting Zhang et al.

Summary: Research on amorphous pure organic room-temperature phosphorescent materials with dual-emissive properties has led to the development of color-tunable RTP emission, including white-light emission, under different feeding ratios and excitation wavelengths. Additionally, time-dependent multicolor afterglow, including nearly white afterglow, can be observed. The RTP emission of the water-soluble acrylamide copolymers can be quenched by water, resulting in tunable emission colors under different humidity conditions.

5,5-Dioxoyphenothiazine-based D-A-D type AIE molecules enabling persistent room temperature phosphorescence, white light emission and dual-mode mechanochromism

Xiaolu Zhou et al.

Summary: Novel heavy atom free 5,5-dioxoyphenothiazine-based D-A-D emitters with AIE, RTP, white light emission, and dual-mode MCL characteristics have been designed and synthesized. Through simple functional group modification, the optical properties of the luminogens were fine-tuned, leading to white light emission. The dense crystal packing was closely related to the phosphorescence, while the special dual-mode MCL behavior was attributed to the crystalline-amorphous state conversion under external force.

Reversible room-temperature phosphorescence in response to light stimulation based on a photochromic copolymer

Bingbing Ding et al.

Summary: The modification of benzothiadiazole with viologen derivatives and copolymerization successfully achieved amorphous RTP emission in the field of intelligent luminescence materials. The photo-stimulated color change in both emission and absorption exhibits good reversibility after cycles of light irradiation.
