A new viscosity probe ND-1 was constructed with large Stokes shift and deep red emission. It can detect viscosity changes in living cells, zebrafish, and tumor mice, as well as observe viscosity variation in acute hyperglycemia mice for the first time, potentially advancing biomedical research on viscosity related diseases.
The detection of viscosity levels in biological systems is of great significance for the research of many diseases. Herein, we constructed a new viscosity probe ND-1 with large Stokes shift (>160 nm) and deep red emission (624 nm). Utilizing its excellent fluorescence performances, the unique probe ND-1 can not only detect the viscosity changes in living cells, zebrafish and tumor mice, but also successfully observe the variation of viscosity in acute hyperglycemia mice for the first time. It is expected that this work may help to promote the progress of related biomedical research and provide a potential tool for the detection and research of viscosity related diseases.
