A NIR fluorescent probe for the in vitro and in vivo selective detection of hydrogen peroxide

Summary: This study developed a turn-on fluorescent probe, TMN-H2O2, with near-infrared emission for H2O2 detection in living systems, showing high selectivity, sensitivity, and fast response time. Quinizarin characterization and quantification in aqueous media using UV-VIS spectrophotometry and cyclic voltammetry

Summary: This study reports the acidity constant values of four anthraquinones in aqueous media for the first time, and presents their application in electrochemical quantification and UV-Vis spectrophotometry when forming inclusion complexes with 2-hydroxy-propyl-beta-cyclodextrin. Cyclic voltammetry showed higher sensitivity and wider linear range for quinizarin detection and quantification compared to spectrophotometry, also demonstrating an advantage in the presence of interferents.

Summary: The study focused on the molecular mechanism of oxidative stress in pulmonary fibrosis, and designed a mitochondria-targeted fluorescent probe for detecting H2O2 levels. The probe showed excellent fluorescence performance and biocompatibility in living cells and mouse models. It can be utilized for studying pulmonary fibrosis and modulating H2O2 levels to slow down disease progression.
