Effects of geometrical parameters and functionalization percentage on the mechanical properties of oxygenated single-walled carbon nanotubes

Mohesn Eghbalian et al.

Summary: The mechanical properties of oxygen-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes were studied through MD simulations. It was found that increasing the functionalization percentage reduces all studied properties and the reasons for the alteration of the mechanical properties of nanotubes were discussed.

Mechanical properties of oxygen-functionalized silicon carbide nanotubes: A molecular dynamics study

M. Eghbalian et al.

Summary: This study utilizes a molecular dynamics approach to characterize the mechanical characteristics of oxygen-functionalized single-walled silicon carbide nanotubes, investigating the influences of parameters such as nanotube length, diameter, and functionalization percentage on mechanical properties. The results indicate that these parameters significantly affect the mechanical properties of the nanotubes, and the functionalization pattern also plays a role in determining the mechanical performance.
