Development of artificial neural networks for performance prediction of a heat pump assisted humidification-dehumidification desalination system

Meysam Faegh et al.

Summary: This study investigated the application of data-driven methods for performance prediction of a heat pump assisted humidification-dehumidification (HDH-HP) desalination system for the first time. The MLPANN model was found to be superior in predicting all target parameters, while the ANFIS model showed weak performance in predicting GOR. Additionally, the predicted values using the MLPANN model were in excellent agreement with experimental data.

Interpretable machine learning modeling of capacitive deionization for contribution analysis of electrode and process features

Farzin Saffarimiandoab et al.

Summary: CDI is a promising technique for water desalination through electrosorption of ions, and developing numerical models to predict and understand the role of electrode and process features is crucial. ML models have been implemented to accurately predict CDI performance and determine the contribution of different features in the desalination process. Oxygen and nitrogen elements in the electrode material have varying impacts on deionization.
