Deep eutectic solvent functionalized graphene oxide nanofiltration membranes with superior water permeance and dye desalination performance

Novin Mehrabi et al.

Summary: The use of a novel deep eutectic solvent for functionalization of graphene oxide membranes improved their dye desalination performance by enhancing water permeability and reducing salt rejection. The functionalized membranes showed high water permeance and maintained high rejection rates towards different dyes.

Facile fabrication of COF-LZU1/PES composite membrane via interfacial polymerization on microfiltration substrate for dye/salt separation

Yi-Yi Su et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have been researched for their advanced membrane materials potential due to their uniform channel structure and high porosity. COF-LZU1/PES composite membranes prepared via interfacial polymerization (IP) process exhibit high rejection rates (>99.0%) for dyes, with nonselective permeation for inorganic salts (<12.0%) and a water permeance above 80.0 L m(-2) h(-1).bar(-1). The membranes show good water stability and are effective for removing dyes from saline wastewater.

Robust, Small Diameter Hydrophilic Nanofibers Improve the Flux of Ultrafiltration Membranes

Kerianne M. Dobosz et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the flux performance of ultrafiltration membranes functionalized with randomly accumulated nanofibers, demonstrating that crosslinked polysulfone nanofibers are more robust and important for enhancing flux performance. Additionally, chemically modifying PSf fibers to be hydrophilic improved the flux of composite membranes, showing that the smallest diameter, hydrophilic nanofibers play a crucial role in enhancing flux performance.
