Bisphenol A as degradation product of monomers used in resin-based dental materials

Siemon De Nys et al.

Summary: The study found that the release of BPA from dental materials may be attributed to impurities and degradation of BPA-based monomers. Although the detected amounts of released BPA were small, manufacturers can reduce BPA content by using only high-purity monomers. It is recommended to further investigate the potential use of non-BPA based monomers in dental resin materials.
