Summary: The corrosion behavior of Ni-Mo-Cr alloy samples in salt and vapor revealed that oxidation in vapor accelerated corrosion, while corrosion in liquid molten salt was less severe. The corrosion by salt vapor should not be neglected in practical applications.

Thermal properties of KCl-MgCl2 eutectic salt for high-temperature heat transfer and thermal storage system

Summary: In this study, the temperature and component dependence of local structure and physical properties of a KCl-MgCl2 binary mixture were investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. The results showed a negative linear correlation between density and thermal conductivity with temperature, while specific heat capacity remained constant with temperature. Increasing K+ in the salt significantly improved thermal conductivity but decreased shear viscosity and specific heat capacity.
