Chiral metal-organic frameworks (CMOFs) have attracted considerable attention as chiral porous materials for asymmetric catalysis and ferroelectricity applications. Despite various studies on CMOFs, further research on enantioselective catalysis is limited, presenting opportunities for future exploration.
Chiral metal-organic frameworks (CMOFs) are a major part of chiral inorganic-organic hybrid materials that lead to considerable attention of researchers, especially in recent years. These kinds of chiral porous materials can be synthesized via different strategies and used for diverse applications from asymmetric catalysis to ferroelectricity. Despite the various investigations about CMOFs unfortunately, further studies were sparse and about enantioselective catalysis, so their promising features motivate us to present one of the excellent reviews about CMOFs. In this review, for the first time, we have comprehensively reported all important aspects of chiral MOFs in two recent decades. The classification of this review includes preparation methods, the collection of CMOFs with peculiar properties, and various asymmetric applications along with recent developments of CMOFs family. Finally, this review reflects the significant developments of these materials with emphasis on the existence of challenges and opportunities in this special issue. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V.
