This review focuses on supramolecular complexes cornered by half-sandwich iridium organometallic linkers, discussing their structural architectures and synthesis approaches in detail. These complexes form rectangular, prismatic, and cage morphologies, occupying a significant position in the field of coordination-driven self-assemblies.
Supramolecular architectures resulting from coordination-driven self-assemblies have attracted attention from chemists owing to their diverse topologies. Among these supramolecular self-assemblies, two- or three-dimensional structures assembled on the corners by half-sandwich iridium units occupy a significant position. This review focuses on supramolecular complexes with rectangular, prismatic, and cage morphologies cornered by half-sandwich iridium organometallic linkers.
