A GFDM with supplementary nodes for thin elastic plate bending analysis under dynamic loading

Wenzhen Qu et al.

Summary: This study proposes a meshless GFDM method with supplementary nodes for solving thin elastic plate bending under dynamic loading, introducing boundary supplementary nodes to obtain a well-determined linear system of equations. Numerical examples verify the accuracy and stability of the method, showing its potential.

A fast element-free Galerkin method for the fractional diffusion-wave equation

Xiaolin Li et al.

Summary: A fast element-free Galerkin (EFG) method is proposed for the numerical analysis of the fractional diffusion-wave equation, which utilizes fast time discrete schemes, clever approximation techniques, and efficient numerical integration procedures to establish linear algebraic systems and accelerate computations. Theoretical error analysis and numerical results confirm the efficiency of the method.

A regularized method of moments for three-dimensional time-harmonic electromagnetic scattering

Junpu Li et al.

Summary: The regularized method of moments based on the modified fundamental solution of the Helmholtz equation is proposed, which can reduce computational time by half while maintaining stability and accuracy. Numerical experiments demonstrate that it can accurately and efficiently compute the radar cross section of perfect conducting scatter in all frequency ranges.

A linearized element-free Galerkin method for the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation

Xiaolin Li et al.

Summary: This paper presents an effective linearized element-free Galerkin (EFG) method for solving the complex Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equation, with high precision and convergence rate. A stabilized moving least squares approximation is proposed to enhance stability and performance, and a penalty technique is used to satisfy boundary conditions. Numerical results demonstrate the efficiency of the method.

Localized Method of Fundamental Solutions for Three-Dimensional Elasticity Problems: Theory

Yan Gu et al.

Summary: The LMFS method proposed in this paper is a numerical solution approach for three-dimensional elasticity problems. It combines the advantages of localized discretization schemes and the classical MFS formulation, allowing for easy handling of numerical examples with up to 100,000 unknowns on a personal computer. The advantages, disadvantages, and potential applications of the LMFS method in comparison to the classical MFS and BEM are discussed.

Integrating Krylov Deferred Correction and Generalized Finite Difference Methods for Dynamic Simulations of Wave Propagation Phenomena in Long-Time Intervals

Wenzhen Qu et al.

Summary: This paper develops a high-accuracy numerical scheme for long-time dynamic simulations of 2D and 3D wave propagation phenomena. The approach treats the second order time derivative of the physical quantity in the wave equation as a substitution variable and converts the original wave problem into the modified Helmholtz equation using the Krylov deferred correction (KDC) technique. The transformed boundary value problem in space is efficiently simulated by using the meshless generalized finite difference method (GFDM) with Taylor series after truncating the second and fourth order approximations.

Fracture mechanics analysis of two-dimensional cracked thin structures (from micro- to nano-scales) by an efficient boundary element analysis

Yan Gu et al.

Summary: The paper develops the boundary element method based on elasticity theory for fracture analysis of cracked thin structures with relative thickness-to-length ratio at micro- or nano-scales. A special crack-tip element technique and nonlinear coordinate transformation method are employed for accurate calculation of stress intensity factors. The BEM procedure does not require remeshing regardless of thickness, and promising SIFs results can be achieved with a small number of boundary elements even for thin films with relative thickness as small as 10(-9).
