Improving Science by Overcoming Laboratory Pitfalls With Hormone Measurements

Summary: Despite little attention paid to hormone analyses in research studies, it is crucial to consider the quality of hormone measurements to prevent false conclusions and ensure appropriate follow-up studies. Various factors such as technique quality, expertise, matrices, timing and storage conditions, freeze-thaw cycles, variation, and standardization should be considered when conducting scientific research involving hormone measurements. This article aims to clarify the importance of paying attention to hormone analyses and provide guidance for decision-making in research studies.
